We have recently returned from the most wonderful holiday in northern Thailand. From our home in Sydney, we initially researched tour companies in the Chiang Mai area and found Frans and Tiger Trails to be the most responsive, informed and helpful by far.
After a scan of the standard trips on offer (none of which rocked our boat) we contacted Tiger Trail which resulted in a private visit from Frans, the owner. What an amasing and interesting guy. He took time and trouble to be clear exactly what we were after and also our interests. This is one of the best choices we have ever made for a tour company. We had one day in Lampang and then a further day visiting conservation projects and some truly serene spots and scenery. Bea our guide was fantastic and the banter between her and our driver La was highly amusing.
My parents and I spent the day with Tiger Trail Thailand and I cant recommend them enough! We really appreciated the local knowledge and the passion of our host for the day. We like to get away from the usually touristy spots and we were treated to a fantastic festival with VERY few tourists!

The highlight was the little village we stayed over the first night (I don't have the name right here - the tiny little village where only Pornchai brings guests) - that felt like being on an another planet. And I got the feeling that the inhabitants enjoyed the visit as well.
"Our trip was fantastic. The trek that we did with Tiger Trail on Monday was everything we hoped for. The guides were excellent, the vehicles were well suited to the terrain...definitely 4x4!! We had a wonderful meal and we really enjoyed the swim at the waterfall after the hike. Your flexibility in being able to drop us at Doi Saket near Chiang Mai was appreciated.
